Believe is a 2-day conference for just middle school students. The weekend is full of powerful teaching from the Bible, engaging worship, hilarious comedy that teaches a point, and lots of fun with friends! To learn more about believe, please visit www.ciy.com/believe.
The conference is April 4-5 at the Family Arena in St. Charles. Students need to meet at the church building by 4:00 p.m. You will need clothes for Saturday, toiletries, sleeping bag with pillow, and your Bible. Students will also need about $20 for meals. (There will also be concessions and things like posters and t-shirts for sale at the conference. Students may bring additional money for those things.) Students will be staying the night at the home of Steve & DiAnn Jones in St. Charles. We will return to the church building about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The current price is $65, but it goes up to $75 after Thursday!
From Executive Producer Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice, The Bible Miniseries) comes the newest feature film about Jesus Christ. We want to take advantage of this opportunity to help parents and students discuss matters of faith at home.
We will be attending the 12:40 PM showing of Son of God on Saturday, March 1 at the Des Peres 14 Cine. We will meet at the church building at 10:45 AM for anyone wanting to ride the church van. We will head over to the West County Mall food court for lunch before the movie. You can ride the van, or you can meet us at the mall at 11:10 or at the theater at 12:15.
After the movie, parents will be given a discussion guide to use at home. It will contain scriptures to read and questions to ask your kids. The next morning during our Sunday Bible class, we will invite parents to join us for a combined class in the Canteen to continue the discussion as a large group.
So that we can prepare for the weekend’s events, please sign up by Thursday. Just click on the “Sign-Ups” tab above and fill out the form.
Since this is a highly-anticipated movie, we recommend you buy your tickets in advance. You can buy them at the theater box office, or you can buy them online. Click here to go to the theater’s web site. Then, choose “Saturday, March 1, 2014” from the drop-down menu. Next, click on the 12:40 PM showing of Son of God. From there, you will be able to order as many tickets as you need. Be sure to have with you the same debit/credit card you use to purchase the tickets when you pick up your tickets at the theater.
Check out the trailers for Son of God!

Winter Jam is a huge Christian concert, taking place at the Scottrade Center in downtown St. Louis. Artists include Newsboys, Lecrae, Plumb, Thousand Foot Krutch, Tenth Avenue North, Colton Dixon, and speaker Nick Hall. $10 gets you in. Just bring a $10 bill to drop in the bucket when we enter the doors. We will meet at the building at 3:45 and return about 10:30.
This is a great event to invite a friend to. There is a lot of great music from multiple genres (rock, pop, hiphop) and life-changing messages from God’s Word. Think of a friend or two you can invite.
Be sure to bundle up (we will be waiting outside for the doors to open) and bring money to buy something to eat in the arena. (You may also want to bring money for merchandise, like CDs, T-shirts, posters, etc.) For more info about Winter Jam, visit www.jamtour.com.
Due to the snow and the threat of the roads re-freezing tonight, we are going to cancel the Christmas parties.
Instead, we will have a combined party this Wednesday night on the 4th Level at the church building. We will begin at 6:30 with food and games. We will end the evening together in worship focused on the birth of our Savior.
Please bring a finger food (sandwiches, chips, cookies, etc.) at 6:30 to share with the group.
Enjoy the snow with your family, and stay safe!
A big thanks to all the students and adults who participated in the Volleyball Tournament yesterday! You guys helped raise more than $2,500 for Camp Ne-O-Tez! We had two student teams and one adult team compete. Everyone played hard and had a lot of fun!
Our new Wednesday night Bible studies begin this week! Each week we meet at 7:00 on the 4th Level for exciting and relevant Bible studies and small group discussions. The Middle School will be starting a new study: “Jesus-Centered Life.” Students will spend several weeks on an adventure into the heart of Jesus!
The High School will be starting a video series: “In the Dust of the Rabbi: Becoming a Disciple.” Videos are done by historian Ray Vander Laan, who takes students on a journey through the holy lands to discover what it really means to be a follower of Jesus Christ!
Service project – Saturday, September 21. We will be helping clean up after the Webster Groves Jazz & Blues Festival. We will be stacking chairs, tables, and helping clean up after the festival is over. This is a great way to serve the community and enjoy some great music! More details will be coming soon.
Our next devotional is Sunday, October 6th at the Borths’ house. Right after bible class, we will head over to their house for a bonfire devo, hot dog roast, and s’mores!
Don’t forget about our area-wide fall retreat, Refuge, November 8-10! It was great to see our camp friends Sunday at the Volleyball Tournament. The next opportunity is at Refuge. This is an awesome weekend of relaxation, fun, and spiritual renewal that you don’t want to miss!

We will be hanging out in the Gym/Canteen from 5-9 PM. We will eat pizza, play games, have a devo, and hang out one last time with Lydia & Logan. Be sure to bring $5 for food.
